About Lexcel
Lexcel is a quality mark developed by the Law Society specifically for legal practices.
The general intention of Lexcel is to put in place procedures to cover most eventualities arising in practice management.
Research and feedback from Lexcel certified firms has identified the following benefits from achieving the quality mark:
- Effective risk management leading to fewer claims or complaints
- Better customer service leading to increased client retention
- Lower insurance premiums or favourable treatment from insurers
- Improved marketability and competitive advantage
- Greater success in tenders, beauty parades and panel reviews
- Consistency of service from all solicitors within a practice
- Increased profitability.
Practices wishing to request my help in obtaining Lexcel will first need to undergo a one-day audit leading to a "Gap Report".
The Gap Report will identify the areas where the practice already complies with the quality mark standard, and also the areas where work is required.
During the one-day
audit, it should also be possible to establish the
appropriate timescale for achieving compliance with the
standard.
